We explore new ways of developing products, from basic craft approach to high-tech machinery. Our pursuit is to be in full control of the lifespan of the product, from its origin – in the form of unrefined material – through the final product until its inevitable decay.
This eyewear won’t outlive you. The lifespan of our bioplastic eyewear range depends on the wearer. Each pair of frames is strong and stable for as long as is needed. But once they’re no longer serving their purpose, they can eventually be degraded in your compost. Place them in industrial compost and they will decompose naturally in fewer than 90 days — leaving behind not a single harmful trace to the environment. Our recipe is based on a combination of PLA, made from corn starch, PHB, from used cooking oil — as well as safe plasticising additives commonly used in food industry. Our designer frames are monomaterial and made 100% from renewable resources.
